Heidelberg has released Prinect MetaDimension & Shooter 2017, the RIP and workflow solution from Heidelberg, significantly enhances the productivity of PDF workflows.


Prinect MetaDimension
The RIP for maximum productivity in the PDF workflow Prinect MetaDimension uses the Adobe PDF Print Engine to render PDF files directly and process transparencies with unprecedented reliability. Not only does it speed up RIP processes, it also significantly boosts their efficiency. In addition, the classic Adobe PostScript Interpreter is available for conventional job processing. The double RIP configuration therefore creates the perfect conditions for reliable production with maximum flexibility.

Efficient and scalable at all times – Prinect MetaDimension is designed for all platesetters from Heidelberg. As a workflow solution, the RIP software is extremely flexible to use. The straightforward intercommunication with Prinect Signa Station impositioning software significantly enhances performance and quality for every print shop. With fully automated functions, Prinect MetaDimension processes all incoming standard jobs quickly and reliably. The production efficiency achieved with Prinect MetaDimension extends all the way through to the pressroom. The RIP system offers a range of functions specially designed to cut makeready times at the press:

– The interaction with Prinect Prepress Interface ensures precise CIP4-PPF data, making for tangible savings thanks to rapid ink presetting.
– The finely tuned process calibration for every color separation in Prinect MetaDimension generates printing plates that reduce makeready times and waste even more. Spot colors can also be allocated their own process calibration.
– The optional paper stretch compensation ensures supremely precise registration, even with the most difficult printing stocks and demanding ink application processes. This saves valuable press time.
– With the plate-on-demand function, the printer can start to image a new plate directly from the press control station.

Consistently reliable proofing – With the tried-andtested color management system developed by Heidelberg, proofs for color matching offer a very precise preview of the subsequent print result. This precision can be verified at any time. The optional proof report provides exact information on how the measurements deviate from the target. The excellent color matching and the final outstanding proof quality hav been attested to many times by independent experts. Since the proof system is fully integrated in the automatic Prinect MetaDimension workflow, no complex configuration of additional proofing systems is required.

The proof option can also output rapid full-sheet proofs to enable checking of the sheet and its content. For an absolute match between proof and print, sheet proofs can also be generated based on the high-resolution bitmaps (ROOM proof). Many currently available inkjet printers from leading manufacturers can be directly controlled. Output to suitable color laser printers is also supported.

The perfect gateway to PDF workflow
Prinect MetaDimension has a modular structure to ensure a solution for every print shop need, ranging from the lowest configuration with a RIP solution for direct imagesetter control through to an automated workflow solution that works together with Prinect Signa Station. Fully integrated with Prinect Prepress Manager, Prinect MetaDimension takes over the task of creating PDF and PostScript files, as well as controlling the imagesetter. The quality screens of the Prinect screen range can be used in every configuration.

Optimized for direct connection – For the Suprasetter models A52/A75, A106 and 106 family, Prinect MetaDimension offers a streamlined con figuration with direct connection of the recorder to the RIP. The system can be upgraded to the full version at any time.
Prinect MetaDimension Prep/Prinect Shooter
Maximum performance – The full version for maximum convenience and throughput during plate production and plate post-production. In addition to the above mentioned CtP recorder models, Suprasetter 145/162/190 can be connected to the Prinect Shooter as well. Since the ripping and screening of the files can be performed independently from the imagesetter control, processing can be structured more flexibly and the system can be used even more efficiently.
